Overview:
The Public Health Laboratory Consultant will support the expansion of USP’s technical offerings by analyzing the current state of public health laboratory sectors in Africa and Asia, serving as an advisor and subject matter expert, leading the development of strategies for diagnostic network optimization and laboratory logistics, and providing billable technical assistance as requested.
Responsibilities:

* Perform analysis of the current state of affairs (e.g., stakeholders, initiatives, etc.) in Africa and Asia’s public health laboratory sector

* Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert to the Sr. Director, GHTP, in identifying and responding to opportunities relevant to diagnostic network optimization (DNO) and laboratory logistics

* Lead in the development of strategies relevant to DNO and laboratory logistics

* Provide billable technical assistance as requested, including initial assessments, document reviews, meeting participation, or any others as requested

Qualifications:

* 10 years of experience supporting the optimization of HIV, TB, Malaria, and other infectious disease laboratory networks

* 10 years’ experience supporting USAID, PEPFAR, CDC, or other donor-funded laboratory logistics activities

* Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, microbiology, or other relevant discipline

* Experience providing technical assistance and services to public health laboratories in low and middle-income countries

* Previous experience and knowledge on optimizing networks of diagnostic labs.
